We strip the old roof down to the bare deck, replace any rotted OSB sheathing, then build back up: synthetic underlayment, ice and water shield in the valleys, new flashing, drip edge, shingles, and ridge cap. Doing it in that order is what separates a roof that lasts from one that just looks finished.
Every roof replacement is backed by a 5-year workmanship warranty (roof repairs carry a 1-year labor warranty), on top of manufacturer material warranties.
